Bethesda continues adding new content to Fallout 4 and their latest DLC ?Vault-Tec Workshop? was released on PlayStation 4, Windows PC and Xbox One.

“Vault-Tec Workshop,” which the developers announced back at E3, gives Fallout 4 players the opportunity to build an underground society and perform experiments on its unsuspecting populace. The DLC is now available as a free download for players who purchased Fallout 4?s Season Pass. It can also be purchased as a standalone add-on for $4.99.

The latest DLC is built upon established Fallout?series lore and puts players in the role of a shady Vault Overseer. Though actually designed to protect survivors in the aftermath of a nuclear holocaust, Vault-Tec vaults offer underground living quarters and enough supplies to last a makeshift society for decades.

The gameplay involves player assuming the role of an Overseer in the Vault-Tec Workshop DLC, they must carefully manage the needs of their underground society while covertly engineering social experiments.

Players are allowed to build and manage their own vault, Vault 88 right from scratch, fitting together pre-built rooms and passageways to form a complete underground network. Constructed vaults can then be filled with equipment, furniture and vanity items and the new DLC introduces new interactive items like slot machines, soda stations and exercise bikes, which will alter the moods of vault dwellers when used.

A gear logo indicates all the Vault-Tec Workshop’s new items, and all of them, except the four Vault-Tec prototypes, are available to players immediately after unlocking the first workshop as part of a Better Living Underground.

Here are all the Workshop items: (via Polygon)

Population Management Terminal – This new tool finally allows players to easily identify unemployed settlers and assign them jobs. Players can also use it to locate their companions.

Vault-Tec Prototypes – The prototypes from the experiment are found in the Vault Resources category. They provide temporary boosts when players use them. The Power Cycle 1000 offers an endurance boost, the phoropter gives players a perception boost and the slot machine will give players a boost in luck.

Furniture – Some new furniture items like the pommel horse provide entertainment for the settlers and benefit players as well. Use the pommel horse for an agility boost and the weight bench for a strength boost.

Decorations – Most of the items are the posters that come in new and old states. The remaining of these are new and clean versions of items previously available.

Power – The two new power generators have been added, the Vault-Tec Reactor and Vault-Tec Super Reactor. The new reactors offer a significant increase in power available and all old generators pale in comparison. The Vault-Tec Reactor produces 150 power while the Vault-Tec Super Reactor produces 500. The reactors require a lot of Nuclear Material to build but the vault provides plenty in the Uranium caves.

Players can further modify and craft in the DLC with a selection of new vault-related structures at their disposal. Structures are grouped by categories and can be expanded for more pieces, such as a hallway or a corner, to fit your building needs. The new structures allow players to personalize the look of their vault with themed-room components to build cafeterias, nurseries, quarters and more.

Fallout 4?s Vault-Tec Workshop DLC is available now for Xbox Live, the PlayStation Network and PC platforms via Steam.
