Fallout 4 Cheats: Console Commands Discouraged By Bethesda, May Delete Your Save Files

By on

Do you use a lot of Fallout 4 Cheats on PC? Well, you might want to refrain from doing that unless you want your save files to be corrupted. Bethesda has announced that using console commands or cheats is not advisable.

Fallout 4 Cheats Not Recommended

Using console commands ?can very easily mess up save games?, Bethesda marketing manager Pete Hines tweeted, GameSpot reported. ?Use of the console is not supported or recommended on PC,? Hines said.

While mods will be available for all platforms in 2016, Hines said that console commands will not be supported. ??That kind of thing isn?t permitted on consoles anyway,? Hines tweeted in response to a Fallout 4 gamer who asked if console commands will be brought to consoles.

Console commands brings numerous cheats to make the game easier such as the ability to instantly kill all enemies around you or you can turn off collision detection so you can pass through walls. You can see some neat Fallout 4 console commands here.

Why Fallout 4 Cheats Are Beneficial

While console commands can corrupt your save file, some players might actually want to try using them in case they get affected by other save corrupting bugs in the game. A Fallout 4 cheat allows players to instantly level-up their characters to their desired level or the rank where you lost your progress. Another console command transports players to a secret developer room which houses all the weapons and items in the game.

Players who are doing a second play through might also want to use console commands especially as repeating the game from a blank slate might feel tiresome for some players. Heck, games before had cheat codes available for consoles and using them didn?t result to corruption of save files.

So, do you want console commands to be officially available for consoles? Fallout 4 is available on PS4, Xbox One, and PC.
