Bang The Machine Showing At Evo 2010!

Also, after a long haitus, Bang the Machine will be making a comeback to Evolution this year. Profiling the lifestyles of some of the Street Fighter II tournament scene?s top competitors, the documentary follows them from Sunnyvale to Las Vegas as they duke it out for the right to secure a spot on Team USA. The prize-a trip to Japan, home of the world?s most advanced video gaming culture, and the chance to take on the best in a championship match between the two national teams. While capturing the testosterone and near-obsessive intensity of the slick-fingered youths, director Tamara Katepoo also brings a sociological eye to the hierarchical politics rife in the East Coast / West Coast cliques, exposing a conflict that resurfaces in a volatile Tokyo showdown that threatens to tear apart Team USA. BANG THE MACHINE presents a refreshingly entertaining, insightful portrait of a youth culture tapped by a flourishing gaming industry larger than Hollywood. Intriguingly, it is a culture where the racial power structures of society at large are inverted (Asian Americans command the most respect, while the most feared and admired are the Japanese) and where American identity emerges precisely when they are confronted by a foe more foreign than any amongst them,

Two more tournaments added for Evo Seeds!
Two more tournaments have been added to the list of tournaments that will get seeded at Evo 2010 for placing high. EvoAPAC which is Austrailia?s huge tournament will be offering seeds to the top 2 finishers at their event. So if you live in Australia or surrounding countries, make sure to check out this tournament in action. The second event that is getting Evo seeds is East Coast Throwdown 2. This event is one of the East Coast?s biggest events and it happens in May. Both of these events will be huge, and not to be missed.

Evolution and Midwest Championships Offer Unique Prize!

The Evolution Championship Series and Midwest Championships are proud to bring you a crazy opportunity for people attending both events. The top two placers from every Evo game that is present at Midwest Championships will receive a seed at the Evo World Championships in July 2010 in Las Vegas. Midwest Championships is one of the longest running major tournaments out there, we are happy to offer this opportunity to them for their players to showcase what the can do at their event.

There will be no customizing colors, names or items at any time before or during a tournament match.

EVO Registration Page
Registration is MANDATORY. No in-person signups will take place at the event. The deadline to register is July 5, 2010 @ 11:59PM PST. If you are looking to save some money, make sure you register by April 30, to save some cash.
