Wales and Northern Ireland are set for a historic meet up in the UEFA Euro 2016 as they each attempt to reach a first European Championship quarterfinal. Wales vs. Northern Ireland will take place at Parc des Princes in Paris on Saturday, 25 June. Kickoff is at 17:00 (5 p.m.) BST. The game will be broadcast on BBC One and BBC One HD, with coverage starting at 16:00 (4 p.m.) BST. Radio commentary of the game will be available on BBC Radio 5 Live.

With both teams having limited tournament experience over the years, it is difficult to predict which team will win the match. Wales, however, heads into the match with the historical advantage, having won 15 of their 34 previous meetings since 1953 – when FIFA ruled that the Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland must compete under separate names.
Northern Ireland have not beaten Wales in eight attempts, a winless run stretching back to a 1-0 home championship victory in May 1980, though their last meet in March did end up in a 1-1 draw.
While Wales is clearly the favorites to win the match, Chris Coleman’s men can struggle to break teams down when opponents drop deep as Northern Ireland demonstrated against Germany, showing how strong they can be as a defensive unit. With Gareth Bale and Aaron Ramsey in their sparkling form, Wales still could demolish Northern Ireland?s defence to score a goal.
