By the end of his interview, the talk show host mentioned the importance of giving back to the troops to the audience’s amazement as they reunited a family as per Daily Mail. Johnson said, “There is one more thing I would like to do before I leave tonight, Jimmy. I’d like to give back to a military family who’s in the audience.”
The Fast and Furious star then proceeded with the comedian to search for the military family among the audience. They ended up backstage in the control room. In there is The Tonight Show‘s producer Karina Kabalan.
Johnson told her, “I hear you’re a producer of this show and you’re an army vet. I heard that you met your husband when you were both deployed in Iraq. And your husband’s name is Todd and he is a master sergeant in the U.S. Air Force.” He gave the stunned producer a hug.
Tears of Joy
He continued by saying he knew the couple have been living apart for the past 18 months because he’s thousands of miles away. Kabalan nods and weeps at the same time. Her husband Todd, on the other hand, was already sneaking up behind her. Johnson told her that he and Fallon wanted to thank the couple for their service and sacrifice. And that he personally heard she’s an amazing person. They wanted to bring her husband home for the holidays. She was then asked to turn around to embrace her husband.
As the husband and wife were finally reunited, Fallon was caught on cam wiping his tears and getting choked up. He said, “Oh man, I’m losing it right now.” Nothing could have been a better gift for Christmas.
