Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 Character Classes: What We Know So Far

By on

Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 is two months away from release, and it looks to be a huge improvement over the first game. There are now multiple ways to explore the hub world ? which is seven times bigger than the original Xenoverse ? and there?s a ton of new characters to use in Parallel Quests or multiplayer matches. One thing fans have been wondering about are the character classes and how they’re different from last year’s game, aside from the new customization options.

Trailers have shown new transformations for each class, with Saiyans now able to reach Super Saiyan 3, while the Frieza race can achieve his Golden Form from Resurrection F. The Namekians and Buus have also received new transformations, with the former turning into a giant, while the latter becomes a version of Kid Buu.

Earthlings don’t get a transformation, but they do get the Nimbus Cloud and Power Pole, which is baffling since Goku used these in the original Dragon Ball series when he was a child. In all fairness, Goku wasn’t called a Saiyan yet in the earlier days of the series, but it was still implied that he wasn’t an ordinary human.

Aside from the transformations, there seems to be more freedom for character customization in Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2. The latest trailer shows a Frieza race in jeans, which is quite humorous to look at. It’s not the biggest change in the world, but it’s something fans will appreciate since they can now make their character look however they want. Here?s hoping there’s an option to give Saiyans their tails.

Bandai Namco has also confirmed that specific races have exclusive location bonuses. A Namekian will be able to find things in New Namek that a Saiyan and a Buu can’t find. It will be interesting to see what other bonuses are there, though one can assume that a Frieza race can find something special in Frieza’s spaceship.

Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 is slated for an October 25 release on PS4 and Xbox One, while the PC version of the game comes out on October 28. Those who pre-order a physical or digital copy of the game can get exclusive access to Goku Black, who recently unveiled his Super Saiyan Rose form, though it might not be in the game.
