Dragon Ball FighterZ is one of the most anticipated fighters coming out next year, and to add to the excitement, Bandai Namco has announced a closed beta which opens in July 26. The company has confirmed that nine characters would be playable in the beta, including the recently announced Future Trunks, who got a new trailer to commemorate the announcement. This means we will see two new characters announced soon, which should add even more excitement for fans of the anime.
Future Trunks joins Goku, Gohan, Vegeta, Freeza, Cell and Majin Buu, so it will be interesting to see the other two characters announced for the beta. Gematsu confirmed that the beta registration opens July 26, so the character reveals should be out by that time. Piccolo and Tien Shinhan have been teased by the producers, so there’s a good chance that these are the new characters included in the beta.
A ton of Dragon Ball FighterZ gameplay was shown during EVO 2017, though Future Trunks wasn’t playable at the time, so fans will have to wait till the upcoming beta. The short trailer shows off a number of his signature moves, including Burning Attack, Heat-Dome Attack and a number of sword attacks. Future Trunks will also be in his Capsule Corp jacket that he debuted in, though we can only hope that his Saiyan Armor attire will be in the game some how.
Right now, it’s not clear if the characters will have alternate costumes, since we have only seen alternate colors in the various gameplay trailers. Still, it’s the gameplay and visuals that will keep fans coming back and it looks tremendously good, with a ton of chaotic moves. It’s clear that this game will keep fighting game fans happy, especially those disappointed with the current direction of Marvel vs Capcom Infinite.
