While the Downton Abbey finale already aired in the UK last Christmas, it?s now time for fans in the US to come to grips with the popular series ending this Sunday night.
Newsday writes about show creator, Julian Fellowes, just being a true blue Englishman, who couldn?t free himself from the myths a nation tells about itself and more so, those we tell ourselves. He utterly embraced them ? a widely-cherished series ending on a perfectly joyous note this Sunday night.
In the episode before the final show, the audience was left with lots of questions about each of the characters. Will Lady Edith (Laura Carmichael) find her much-deserved happiness? Will Anna (Joanne Froggatt) become a mother? Will newly married couple, Henry (Matthew Goode) and Lady Mary (Michelle Dockery) be able to have a good future together? And what about, Mrs. Hughes (Phyllis Logan), Mr. Molesley (Kevin Doyle), Daisy Mason (Sophie McShera), Isobel Crawley (Penelope Wilton), Tom Branson (Allen Leech), and the others?

Answers to these questions are to be revealed in the finale and it appears that we are looking at a surprisingly optimistic conclusion to everyone?s stories.
According to Zap2it, basically everyone from the Crawley family to their house staff, will get a happy ending as the series concludes. Bertie Pelham (Harry Hadden-Paton) finally realizes that Lady Edith is the woman she can?t live without and so he wins her back with Lady Mary?s help. Mary also progresses as a character as she tells Edith that she wants them to have a better relationship as sisters in the years to come. What?s also worth noting is Mary?s decision not to reveal that she is pregnant on Edith?s big day so as not to steal the show from Edith, which is probably the nicest thing she?s ever done.
Meanwhile, Daisy and Andrew will get their happily-ever-after settling down at Mr. Mason?s farm. It could also be inferred that Tom Branson has probably hit it off with Laura Edmuns (Antonia Bernath), though it doesn?t show him moving on from Sybil (Jessica Brown-Findlay).
Mr. Molesley and Baxter (Raquel Cassidy) are giving a shot at things. Molesley accepts a full-time teaching job in the village, while Anna ?and Bates (Brendon Coyle) become parents to a newly-born son. Isobel also gets her happy ending with Lord Merton (Douglas Reith) who turns out to be getting well from his illness.
The Downton Abbey series finale was full of sentimental moments and joyous conclusions. We?re sure fans are pretty pleased with that perfect farewell with eyes tearing up at almost every bit of it.
