Double Dragon is an ancient arcade beat ?em up video game and it’s set to make a big comeback. The game called Double Dragon IV will be making a big come back on the PS4 and PC just next month after years of silence. ?Unlike most game revivals this year, Double Dragon IV is going to confidently bring back it?s old school gaming to the modern era.

Double Dragon Is Back

If you?re finding this hard to believe, you aren?t the only one. But it’s true! Engadget reports that the old classic is set for a very unexpected modern release. The release date of the new Double Dragon IV game will be on January 30 on both Steam and PS4.

The last Double Dragon game was Double Dragon Neon released back in 2012. Since then, there has been no new releases or spin offs from the developers until now.

The new Double Dragon IV game will be the latest of the franchise but it’s set to pay homage to its classic beat ?em up roots. It’s been revealed in a recent press release that three of the game?s original developers are helping to make the game. The three are the original game?s designer, planner, and composer.

Instead of trying to revive an old franchise with the latest generation of gaming technology, the developers have opted to proudly feature it?s pixelated graphics, music style, and beat ?em up gameplay. And with the resurgence of nostalgia inducing retro gameplay, their decision may actually pay off.
