Kim Rae Won and Park Shin Hye’s love team has been well received by viewers.

Doctors Korean drama is among today?s hottest TV series that is embroiled in a tight ratings race, but it seems that SBS is keen on having the show regain its lead. According to a spoiler, a k-drama actor will be joining the cast soon.

The medical-themed series follows the story of an aspiring doctor with a dark past named Yoo Hye Jeong, played by k-drama sweetheart Park Shin Hye. Her mentor-turned-love interest is named Hong Ji Hong, played by award-winning actor Kim Rae Won. The hospital-based drama has been receiving high viewership since it premiered on SBS last June.

However, with ratings pouring in for rival shows such as MBC?s W and KBS? Uncontrollably Fond, it seems that Doctors is determined to get back on top of the ratings battle by bringing in guest stars.

A Doctors staff has revealed that Korean actor Namgoong Min will be joining the show.

The star of Remember: War of the Son will be portraying a character that is different from his usual antagonist or romantic lead roles. He will play the role of a single father who is looking for a neurosurgeon for his son.

The Doctors Korean drama spoiler revealed that his storyline will be ?deeply touching? and will surely make viewers cry.

However, the Asia Starz report clarified that Namgoong Min?s role will not be permanent. His agency explained that his appearance is meant to support producing director Oh Choong Hwan, whom he has worked with in The Girl Who Sees Smells.

Prior to Namgoong Min, actress Han Bo Bae recently joined Doctors Korean drama?s cast. ?Best known for starring in 2008?s The Last Scandal of My Life, the 22-year-old plays the role of Yoo Yoo Na, who is the strong-willed half-sister of Park Shin Hye?s character.

Aside from reports about its guest artists, the lead stars of Doctors have also been making news. After the show?s successful first couple of weeks, the agency of Park Shin Hye admitted that they had doubts if Doctors would be as well-received as their talent?s previous projects, which include The Heirs in 2013, Pinocchio in 2014 and Stairway To Heaven in 2003.

The show?s director also confessed that he had doubts about Kim Rae Won playing the male lead. This is because the 35-year-old is more known for playing strong characters in his past projects, such as his award-winning role in the 2015 legal thriller Punch.
