If you think you?ve heard the most startling Doctor Who news yet, then you haven?t heard of a report saying Doctor Who might be a woman. According to actress Hayley Atwell, she strongly expresses her opinion in playing a character in the long-running TV show Doctor Who; mainly pointing out that she wants to be the one and only lead role for Doctor Who Season 9.
?I?d like to BE Doctor Who,? that was the response of Avengers actress Hayley Atwell that made the internet go bananas. Of course we?ve had a fair share of men piloting the TARDIS, so maybe it?s time we see a whole other version of the Doctor.
Keep in mind that through the years of Doctor Who television, 13 men have played the role of the Doctor, and during the course of those 13 Doctors nobody gave a hint about changing the gender of the leading role, according to TV Guide. Current showrunner Steven Moffat apparently voiced his concerns about the sudden onset of a female TARDIS pilot. ?Well, I think my opinion is fairly obvious from the show, isn?t it,? Moffat said at San-Diego Comic Con in July, according to TV Guide.
?What I think about the possibility and whether it would work or not? I think I?ve expressed myself about as clearly as I could, in the context of the show. If you?re not reading the subtext, then I?ll lend you. But believe me, some people aren?t reading that subtext, ?cause it?s too subtle.? But Mofatt did give the fans a female version of the Master in Missy, played by Michelle Gomez, who is a renegade Time Lord.
Some of the fans of Doctor Who have something to say about this possibility.

And if you really want to take the female Doctor conversation seriously, then it might be a while before anyone gets into the real subject of changing the gender of the Doctor, otherwise, don?t fix what isn?t broken.
