Doctor Who serves up its most unusual episode in quite some time this Saturday night, a blend of wild fantasy and comic farce. But The Girl Who Died has a dark sting in its tail. Here?s what you can expect.
Maisie Williams will appear alongside Peter Capaldi and Jenna Coleman in The Girl Who Died, the first part of a two-part story that sees the Doctor and Clara training a band of Vikings to defend themselves against a deadly army. Williams will play Viking girl Ashildre.
?I didn’t know much about it, but knew they were introducing a new character to work closely with the Doctor,” Williams said about the role, by way of BBC America. “I’d got through the second episode and absolutely loved it! I was going to do a tape but ran out of time because I was in America shooting another film, so my agent worked really hard and sent over lots of clips and videos?they liked them and gave me the role,? reported E Online.
According to International Business Times, the sneak-peek clip shows William?s character, Ashildre, working with Clara (Jenna Coleman). They?re trapped in a room with a bunch of Vikings and trying to escape. They attempt to open a door ? which looks seriously out of place next to the Vikings ? while another wall moves in, seemingly about to crush everyone in the area. However, the clip ends before the women can open the door.
As already hinted by executive producer Steven Moffat, Williams’ character is not a returning character but actually a new one. And fans will find out what she is all about on Oct. 17, when “Doctor Who” season 9 episode 5 airs on BBC One, states Christian Today.
