That?s right, there are new details about the Doctor Strange film and here?s what we have learned so far.
The film will begin its filming on November 2015, right now it?s more on pre-production plans. We already know who will play as Doc Strange, well for those who are late on the news, Benedict Cumberbatch (who also plays Sherlock Holmes in BBC?s Sherlock as well as Khan in Star Trek Into Darkness, and Smaug in The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey) will take the role of Strange. Cumberbatch also left a video message to the fans during D23, Cumberbatch noted that the film will be about “Girls, cars, astral projection. The usual fare,” and this will be his most challenging role yet.
During the Expo, some concept art were featured in a highlight reel played at the event, unfortunately no videos are available for the public. The reel shows Strange on a red cloak and more on his traditional outfit, there is also another concept art with him wearing some sort of trench coat.
There is also a concept art for Baron Mordo with gray and black tones, he will also have the trademark gray temples and goatee. The Ancient One is most likely be a woman as shown on the concept art at the end of the reel, which will be played by Tilda Swinton. The footage was narrated by director Scott Derrickson, who also stated that the film will focus on the origin of Doctor Strange straight from the comics.
For the comic?s origin story, Stephen Strange was a neurosurgeon who was arrogant that had an accident where his hands were badly damaged. As a result, he lost everything he has achieved and decided to search around the world for the cure to his damaged hands, which lead him to the Ancient One who taught him the mystic arts.
Doctor Strange will be in theaters on November 4, 2016.
