Doctor Strange Movie Confirmed: Cast, Plot, And What We Know So Far

Marvel has finally confirmed the production of its Phase 3 movie Doctor Strange the shooting of which has already begun.

With lot of speculations regarding Doctor Strange after leak of several photos online, Marvel has finally confirmed the production of movie. The crew will be traveling around the world with shooting in London, New York, Hong Kong and Kathmandu,Nepal. Marvel has also revealed?the pretty awesome star cast it has lined up for the movie.

Benedict Cumberbatch will play the role of Sorcerer Supreme/Doctor Strange while Chiwetel Ejiofor stars as Baron Mordo along with Rachel McAdams as female lead in the movie. Tilda Swinton will possibly be playing the Ancient One according to HitFix. Marvel has also confirmed the casting of Mads Mikkelsen of Hannibal fame whose role is hasn?t been disclosed.?The movie?will be directed by Scott Dickerson known for his movies like The Exorcism of Emily Rose and Sinister, based on the screenplay by Jon Spaihts.

The SlashFilm says the press release by Marvel gives a brief synopsis of the movie as :

?Doctor Strange? follows the story of neurosurgeon Doctor Stephen Strange who, after a horrific car accident, discovers the hidden world of magic and alternate dimensions.

?Doctor Strange? is the latest film in Phase 3 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Phase 3?s goal?over the course of four years and nine films?is to introduce audiences to new heroes and continue the adventures of fan favorites.

The synopsis reveals nothing on how the mysterious character is set to make into the story-line of the upcoming Marvel Phase 3 movies and his connection to Avengers. With Thanos coming to start the Infinity Wars in the Marvel Universe and Doctor Strange dealing in alternate dimensions it is possible that Avengers may seek help from him in the upcoming war. According to MNR Daily its been speculated that Stephen Strange may make appearance in the Captain America: Civil War movie.

Doctor Strange will be the second of Marvel Phase 3 movies after Captain America: Civil War which will debut earlier in March 2016. Doctor Strange is going to hit theaters on November 4, 2016.
