The Doctor Who Christmas Special 2016 sneak peek is undeniably giving us all the feels. A full trailer lasted for nearly three minutes and it gives a good glimpse of what?s to come. The upcoming Christmas special is titled “The Return of Doctor Mysterio.?

The newly released trailer for the Doctor Who Christmas Special 2016 shows the Doctor (Peter Capaldi), Nardole (Matt Lucas) and Justin Chatwin’s Grant. Reports claim that the superhero character of Chatwin in “The Return of Doctor Mysterio? is based on Superman. The trailer also gives viewers a clue that a European villain is coming.

The Doctor?s Enemy

Rumors are swirling that Chatwin’s superhero costume hides a capital ‘I’ behind the ‘G’. The ?G? is obviously imprinted on his chest. If the rumors are true, he could be an old enemy of the Doctor. He might be the Great Intelligence.

Based on the Doctor Who Christmas Special 2016 sneak peek, Nardole will fill the companion’s shoes. Nardole proves that he is more intelligent than what most people think. The Doctor, on the other hand, was eating sushi while on the job.

In a report by E! News, Doctor Who showrunner Steven Moffat teased excited fans saying the “The Return of Doctor Mysterio? “dives into” the world of superheroes. Even Chatwin had something to share about the highly anticipated Christmas special. The actor said it is “one of the most fun and rewarding projects I’ve ever had the pleasure of being involved with.”
