By on

The Disney Infinity universe is about to expand even further. Disney Interactive president, Jimmy Pitaro, has announced that some of Marvel?s group of super heroes and villains will be joining the Disney characters in the 2.0 edition of the hit video game.

The Disney Infinity: Marvel Super Heroes video featured characters from the Avengers including Iron Man, Captain America, Hawkeye, the Hulk, Black Widow and Thor. The Marvel villains Loki and Modok were also featured.

Disney Interactive looked to Brian Michael Bendis, Marvel Comic?s longtime writer and artist, to write the story for Disney Infinity: Marvel Super Heroes and to also make sure that the same look and feel of the characters are present.

New action figures for Hawkeye, Iron Man, Thor, Captain America, Black Widow and the Hulk have been unveiled and they feature a stylized and homogenous look to Marvel?s super heroes.

For those of you wondering if content from the original version will carry over, worry not as John Blackburn, vice president and general manager of Disney Infinity, together with John Vignocchi, executive producer, have both confirmed that all content present in the original version will carry over on to the 2.0 edition. All accessories like toys, play sets, power discs and Toy Box level will also be supported.

In terms of platforms, Disney Infinity 2.0 will be available for the iOS, PC, PS3, Wii U, and Xbox 360. PlayStation 4 and Xbox One will also be available on the first day of release.

There are some changes to the game as well. ?The Toy Box, the place where players build and edit custom worlds, will be getting quite an overhaul in an attempt to make world creation faster and easier. ?This new edition will also have new brushes for easier building of cities, dungeons, and other places. Players will also be able to drop in automated builders that will continue to generate worlds that players can further edit to fit their personal tastes.

The game has a lot of things to offer and also carries over all the things that you loved about the original game. Watch out for the game release this coming fall.
