Disney D23 Expo Highlights: The Best Movies To Watch Out For From Dinsey And Pixar

Disney Pixar fans have long been awaiting the Disney D23 Expo at Anaheim and fans weren?t disappointed as brand new reveals and surprise sequels were revealed. Sequels such as Toy Story 4, and Finding Dory including brand new Films such as Moana and COCO pleased attendees of the 2015 Disney?D23?Expo.

Here are all the movies announced by Disney and Pixar:

Walt Disney Animation Studios

Gigantic

Disney will be making its take on the popular classic story, Jack and the Beanstalk, which tells a reimagining of the life of giants in the sky.

?It?s not what you?ve seen before, the one big giant. This is a world of giants,? Gigantic director Nathan Greno said.

Among the music writers include Kristen Anderson-Lopez and Robert Lopez who are known for their work on Frozen.

Gigantic will be shown in theaters in 2018.

Moana

Moana tells the story of a Polynesian princess who explores the Pacific Ocean as an act of defiance to her family. Moana meets a demi-God named Maui (voiced by Dwayne ?The Rock? Johnson) who was born a human but raised by Gods. ?Moana helps Maui to find his identity.

Moana will show be shown on November 23, 2016.

Zootopia

Zootopia is filling the big-screen with a star studded cast which includes Ginnifer Goodwin, Jason Bateman, and a surprising inclusion of Shakira who will play the role of Gazelle, Cinemablend reported.?Shakira will be lending her vocal talent and D23 attendees were treated with a sample of Shakira?s Zootopia song, ?Try Everything?.

Zootopia will be made by the directors of Tangled and Wreck-It Ralph. The movie will be shown in theaters on March 4, 2016.

Frozen 2

Those wishing to see more from Elsa and Anna will have to wait a bit longer. Frozen 2 is still not in production, however, the executives at Disney are heavily considering a sequel.

?Frozen defied all expectations to become the highest-grossing animated film in history? [and] we?re this close to working on a sequel,? Walt Disney Studios Chairman Alan Horn said. If a sequel does happen, will rumors such as Olaf becoming a prince come true?

PIXAR

Toy Story 4

Toy Story 4 is Disney Pixar?s megaton announcement. The story tells the adventure of Woody and Buzz Lightyear to find Bo Peep. Learn more on how Pixar intends to follow-up the successful and tear-jerking Toy Story 3 here.

Toy Story 4?will release on?June 16, 2017.

The Good Dinosaur

The Good Dinosaur is aiming to bring-in a heartwarming and emotional story between Arlo and Spot. The Good Dinosaur is said to bring a boy-and-dog relationship however, this time, the roles of the boy and the dog are reversed. Arlo is an Apatosaurus and the boy is named Spot. Spot accompanies Arlo on his journey back home as he was separated from his family.

The Good Dinosaur is slated to release this November 25, 2015.

Finding Dory

The sequel to the fish-filled adventure in 2003 will be bringing back the characters we loved: Nemo, Marlin, and Dory; and will be including new characters such as an octopus and a beluga whale. Find out more about the story here.

COCO

If you loved The Book of Life, this film will surely hook you as Coco revolves on the Mexican celebration D?a?de Muertos (Day of the Dead). A lot of Mexican characters, Mexican-inspired bands, and Mexican art fill this animated film. Coco tells the story of Miguel, a 12-year-old who go on a journey that changes his life forever.

Coco is slated to release in fall of 2017.

More Announcements!

A short film for Inside Out titled ?Riley?s First Date?? treated attendees at D23. The short film will be included in the DVD and Blue-ray release this fall.

A poster was poster including Cars 3 and Incredibles 2 was shown at the event. No details however were disclosed about the two sequels.
