After the first Dishonored wowed fans and critics alike, it?s easy to see why so many people are excited about Dishonored 2. The sequel will add Emily from the first game as a new playable character who will have her own unique set of powers and skills. The first game?s protagonist, Corvo, returns as well.
Most fans already know that the sequel essentially has two campaigns featuring Emily and Corvo. If the gameplay from the Bethesda Conference means anything, it seems like Emily will be the more interesting character to play as, since her abilities are completely different from Corvo?s.
Emily also gets an origin story of sorts, as the Dishonored 2 trailer shows her falling off to the void, before The Outsider saves her from certain doom. According to GameSpot, The Outsider has seemingly aged since his last appearance and is likely the one who gave Emily her new powers.
The Bethesda conference showed off some of Emily?s new powers, including the Shadow Walk and the Domino effect. The Domino effect is extremely powerful, as it lets multiple enemies fall after the player takes one down with items like stun mines. The Shadow Walk is a brutal new technique that is useful for stealth and combat, so it?s a pretty diverse ability.
Speaking of new, the sequel will be adding even more steam punk influence into the series? lore with giant mechanical enemies. They look fairly challenging to beat, but Corvo and Emily do have supernatural powers, so this could be a more even fight than expected.
Unlike the first game, Korvo will be fully voiced this time as revealed during the Bethesda Conference. The conference also showed off a number of areas that players would be able to explore, each one looking like a moving painting thanks to the game?s unique graphics engine, which Bethesda has dubbed ?The Void Engine.?
Bethesda also announced a Dishonored 2 collector?s edition, priced at $99.99, will come with a detailed mask that Korvo wore during the first game. You can pre-order the collector?s edition here. Those who either purchase the collector?s edition or pre-order the game digitally will get a free version of Dishonored: Definitive Edition, which is a nice bonus for those who haven?t played the first game.
Dishonored 2 will be released for PS4, Xbox One and Windows PC on November 11. For the latest news at E3 2016, stay tuned to TheBitBag.
