Destiny Update: Matchmaking Issues Still Persist, Says Fans; Bungie Responds

It looks like Destiny?s skill-based matchmaking for PvP modes continues to be a thorn in the side of many players. Earlier today, the game?s forums were bombarded with several posts calling for an end to the controversial system.

Destiny’s Crucible Is Still Encountering Problems

A user by the name of Lost Sols was able to catch the attention of Community Manager David ?Deej? Dague with this balanced assessment of the situation. He argues that switching the Crucible over to a purely connection-based matchmaking system may not be the be-all, end-all solution that many fans envision. However, he does admit that Bungie could be doing more to improve the experience.

?I’m not saying that Bungie can’t do better about trying to find a solution to red bars being at such an advantage and topping leaderboards, but going purely cbmm would lead to a whole different level of frustration on the forums,? he writes.

Deej took the criticism well and urged fans to voice their demands clearly but respectfully:

?My recommendation is that we use this space to explain our opinions, rather than starting and bumping the same thread with the same title. Tell us ?why? you want what you want. Brute force is not how to win over the developers. Show them your side of the issue,? says Deej.

He isn?t promising that a patch or hotfix will come anytime soon, but he assured fans that Destiny?s developers are always willing to listen to what the community has to say.?If you want more background on the problems plaguing Destiny?s skill-based matching, you can check out this?other thread from user Exile Fmnz.

What?s your take on the issue? Are you surprised Bungie still hasn?t figured this out despite Destiny being out for over two years? Or are the fans being too hostile? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below.
