Destiny Update Should Bring Loot Overhaul?

By on

With Destiny in the midst of a major content drought, fans have been busy discussing what changes they want to see in a Destiny update. One of the most requested changes from the community as of late is an overhauled loot system. Many of the game?s remaining player base feels that the current loot system fails to adequately reward players.?Over on Reddit, a user by the name of u/Pwadigy has detailed some hypothetical changes he?d like to see in the near future. Here are some suggestions:

  • ???????5x more drops in the crucible
  • ???????Legendary weapon engrams need to drop as frequently as armor engrams
  • ???????Faction packages should drop 3-4 items
  • ???????Strange coins in patrol chests
  • ???????Strange coins and motes for top-scoring in a crucible match

He believes that a simple return to the loot tables used during the House of Wolves expansion would go a long way towards keeping players interested. Another user called DankPalimpsest has this suggestio:

?The biggest thing they need to fix are raid drops and the infusion system. You need to get 100% of the LL difference every time you infuse, you should get a drop every time you kill a boss (“just shards” should NEVER be a thing in an infusion-based system), and raid stuff should be guaranteed to drop at or above your current light level. Artificial rarity of helmets and 320 drops needs to be fixed.?

Destiny has promised that a major PvE update is scheduled to drop in the Spring. The changes they promised include: a significant Light increase, a bunch of new gear to earn and equip, and new challenges for PvE players seeking some more fun experiences and replayability. Hopefully a loot adjustment is also included in the next Destiny update.
