A lot of the attention on Destiny Rise of Iron has focused on PvE content like the all-new raid and storyline. However, Bungie wants you to know that PvP will be getting some love come September as well.
Destiny Rise of Iron Bringing New Changes To?The Crucible
In an interview with Kotaku, Destiny Creative Director Chris Barrett and Marketing Head Eric Osborne teased fans with some of the new Crucible focused content coming with Rise of Iron.
?The whole crucible-PVP is something we?re super excited to talk about so maybe down the line we?ll roll Lord Saladin out, talk about some Iron Banner stuff. We?ll definitely have a new PVP mode and maps.? Said Barrett.
When asked about custom PvP matches — a long requested feature of the community — Osborne didn?t deny that the rumors were false. Given Rise of Iron?s strong narrative focus on the history of the Iron Lords?and the Iron Banner, it only makes sense for the Crucible to showcase this in some way.
Later in the interview, the pair also said that Destiny?s balancing philosophy would remain unchanged in Rise of Iron. Guns will still perform the same in both PvE and PvP modes. ?There are targeted changes that we do from PVP to PVE?the Sandbox team is willing to break that convention, but overall we want to make sure that the muscle memory you?re creating when you play a campaign works in PVP.? Says Osborne.
