Destiny 2 will be coming out later this year and the short gameplay video revealed has gotten everyone excited. It’s a gorgeous game, so some were disappointed when they found out that the game will only be 30fps on consoles. However, there are rumblings that it might run better on the upcoming Xbox Scorpio, with vague details possibly confirming it.
According to ICXM, Bungie cannot discuss the game’s performance ability on Xbox One until Microsoft’s E3 press conference. Prior to the update, many were already speculating on a higher resolution for the Xbox Scorpio coming out soon. While it will likely remain 30fps on the regular Xbox One, this is a big deal for Scorpio buyers.
Now that we know Destiny 2 is 30fps for consoles, it’s a sad that the 60fps leak wasn’t real. Admittedly, it’s not a huge deal breaker since most games on consoles run at 30fps, but some fans expected more. That doesn’t mean it will be bad, especially with all the improvements announced for it, like a better single-player campaign.
However, those that want to play it in the best quality might want to play instead on PC. Aside from an uncapped frame-rate starting with 60fps, there will be plenty of customization for PC players.
Nonetheless, despite the lack of details, the few vague hints have given fans hope that the Xbox Scorpio will have better performance . While the console needs more exclusive games that will help it stand out from the crowd, it’s a decent start.
The Scorpio King?
Due to the powerful specs of the Xbox Scorpio, it’s possible it can run the game at 60fps while hitting 4K resolution. Plenty of fans are hoping it will be just as strong as the PC version, though that isn’t clear yet. We could see a better looking game when the improved console is out, though we’ll need more concrete information.
The first Destiny was a flawed game that got better as time went on, thanks to a number of expansions. Bungie is hoping to make the sequel even better, with plenty of new features, maybe even weapons for the player. Considering the amount of hype that the game has gotten, one can only hope that it meets expectations.
Destiny 2 is slated for a release on September 8 for the PS4, Xbox One and Windows PC. The game is now available for pre-order in most gaming outlets, so players should hurry and try to get early bonuses. The PS4 will have some timed-exclusive gear.
