Destiny 2 is slowly shaping up to be one of 2017’s most anticipated titles even though there’s not much we know about the game yet. Bungie is set to reveal more about the next installment in the months to come, but those too excited could rely on a few leaks to get a glimpse of the game. Here are some of the important Destiny 2 gameplay details from leaks.
Destiny 2 Gameplay
Known industry insider Shinobi602 has the rundown on the Destiny 2 gameplay. Although we’ve yet to know how authentic these details are, it’s worth noting that Shinobi602 got the Tower and PC release correctly, so some of his other leaks might be real. Still, players should take these rumors with a grain of salt and we’ll have to wait for a full gameplay trailer from Bungie.
According to Shinobi’s past leaks, Bungie is looking to overhaul the game for Destiny 2. This is because Bungie doesn’t want to be hindered by the limitations from the first game’s framework.
“The way things play out, they have to introduce playspaces so that players can engage in systems or activities, but it creates a huge barrier that must be overcome on both the networking & design side so, they’re going to do more open playspaces that incorporate towns, outposts, etc into more common areas. This means fewer hardlines for areas and having them be gated by menus,” says Shinobi602.
Basically, what Bungie is trying to do a more seamless experience. Instead of players having to go through several menus to get to an activity or mission, they can do so through the game world.
The leak also states that there will be major narrative changes for Destiny 2. In Destiny, players commented that the game’s story was dull and it wasn’t worth getting into. This time around, Bungie is going to focus on the Cabal and Saturn with Saturn being the biggest area in the series so far.
Shinobi602 talks about a lot more changes coming to Destiny 2 and from the look of things, very little of the original game’s framework will be left after Bungie is done with the game. Perhaps the best addition is with regards to how the game’s open-world would be like.
We’re expecting Bungie to reveal more and more of the game within the coming months. We’ll also probably more gameplay features come E3 2017.
