It looks like Stefanie Joosten will be working with Hideo Kojima again in his upcoming PS4 exclusive project, Death Stranding. Many fans were wondering if she would appear, especially after Kojima was seen wearing a Joosten cap for a video. At the time, she said she couldn’t comment on the matter, which is saying plenty, but co-star Mads Mikkelsen did.
Joosten posted a Tweet of her beside a billboard featuring the actor, but Mikkelson replied in an unexpected way. On his official Facebook page, a Game Transfers link was shared about her possibly being in the game. If that doesn’t confirm her appearance to some fans, she will likely appear in a vague trailer soon.
She’s Quiet, Too Quiet….
After her breakout role as Quiet in Metal Gear Solid 5, it’ll be interesting to see Joosten in Death Stranding. Having directors and actors reunite in Hollywood films is common place, so seeing this in a video game is fun. Here is hoping that her next character actually puts on some clothes, but only time will tell if that happens.
The star power of this game is fairly interesting, with Norman Reedus, Guillermo del Toro and Mads Mikkelsen in it. Kojima’s games have always felt like tributes to movies, so his new PS4 exclusive should feel like one as well. Hopefully, we find out what it’s about, because fans can only describe it as an open-world Hideo Kojima game.
Last month, rumors regarding Joosten’s appearance in Death Stranding heated after she sidestepped a question on whether she is working again with Kojima. “I can’t say anything about that, unfortunately,” Joosten said as per Metal Gear Informer.
Not So Silent Hills
With the cat seemingly out of the bad for Joosten’s Death Stranding appearance, a new trailer would be great. Previous ones have been very vague, with naked Norman Reedus, evil Mads Mikkelsen and Guillermo hiding from soldiers. Then again, most Hideo Kojima games have been a little hard to describe, though they’re usually centered around war.
Many are hoping that Joosten will act as the lead heroine of the game, though that still can’t be confirmed. Joosten previously played an anti-hero in Quiet, so a change of pace for the actress would be nice for her. At the least, here is hoping she kicks plenty of butt in the game, since many are expecting action.
Death Stranding has no release date, so it’s not clear if it will be out next year or not. All that’s known is that it is a PS4 exclusive and will be Kojima’s first game severing ties with Konami. Speaking of Konami, the company is working on a Metal Gear zombie game, which is as odd as it sounds.
