DC Movies News: Suicide Squad Discussions

DC still has a lot to do before Suicide Squad comes out.

The movie is schedule to come out on August 5, 2016, but that?s not the real problem. An internet leak of the plot has come out, courtesy of Yahoo UK and Screen Rant, and upon reading it, the reason why Tom Hardy wanted out of the project just becomes clearer. After his performance of Bane in the Christopher Nolan-directed Batman series, we all understand why he turned down doing just a bit of acting for Rick Flag.

However, as with all movies, the role of Rick Flag may end up on other hands?possibly Jake Gyllenhaal?s?very soon, and we may yet see Suicide Squad as scheduled. The developments only makes a lot of hype and noise for a movie which is supposed to be a game-changer as well. Will Suicide Squad satisfy or disappoint once it rolls around? We take a look at the developments?the plot, the characters?and we?ll see whether it?s an interesting prospect or a cringe-worthy film.

Jared Leto?s Role

For the sake of avoiding spoilers, we will avoid most of it and just head to some interesting bits and pieces.

As per the Screen Rant spoiler, Jared Leto will have a fun time exploring his Joker role?in the comfort of a cell. Word has it he was brought in as an incentive for Harley Quinn (played by Margot Robbie) to behave and play nicely with the others. Well, it does appear that will happen, but it would be interesting to see how he tackles the role once he gets out of the cell.

Is this to serve as a stepping ground for future roles? As per the Screen Rant spoiler, he will be in a cell most of the movie?he could take some acting lessons from Anthony Hopkins. His character, Hannibal Lecter, also spent quite a lot of time in a cell during Silence of the Lambs and the sequels.

Other Cast-Members

What about Amanda Waller, Rick Flagg, and the other characters?

Well, one of the reasons why Rick Flagg?s role may have turned off Tom Hardy is because he is a supporting actor through and through?until such time he is revealed to be partly in a scheme to steal the collected villains and use them for his own personal ?superpowered security squad?. Amanda Waller, in the meantime, appears to be acting in the same capacity as Nick Fury, as per Yahoo UK.

All of this certainly seems to just boost up the interest in the film. Although there isn?t much revealed about Harley Quinn, Captain Boomerang, Deadshot, and the others?apart from what the comic book series already reveals about their characters?the premise of the movie seems to be as a vehicle for each of these characters to get significant screen time before they are introduced as villains in each of their respective heroes? own movies.

What this all Means

We might be seeing a rather interesting movie in the same way Guardians of the Galaxy surprised us. The actors and actresses appear to be fit for their role, and it might turn out to be DC?s trump card. We stay tuned and look at more information about the movie as it nears its release.
