The DC Comics July 2017 solicitations have been released and there are a number of intriguing stories fans might like. Some are new storylines that fans might want to check out, while others are payoffs for certain storylines. Either way, DC loyalists are bound to find something they should like or be curious about in the July solicitations.

With so many comics and graphic novels coming out, it’s only fair to point out the best titles fans might want to check out. All of the July 2017 solicitations for DC Comics can be seen here, thanks to comic book website Newsarama. So without further ado, here are the comics and collections fans could check get interested in.

Dark Days: The Casting #1

Scott Snyder’s latest event continues in this one-shot, with art from Andy Kubert, Jim Lee and John Romita Jr. Not only does the story connect to June’s Dark Days: The Forge, but it also references the recent Death of Hawkman mini-series. Both Snyder and James Tynion IV have impressed comic book fans before and this series should do the same.

Action Comics #983 and #984

One of the more fun looking storylines in the DC Comics July 2017 solicitations comes from Dan Jurgens’ Action Comics. The Superman revenge squad finally make their move against the Man of Steel, in the surprisingly blunt Revenge storyline. Aside from Superman’s rogues, we also get to see him team up with Supergirl, New Super-Man, Steel, and Superwoman.

Cyborg Superman seems to be the only visible opponent for the team thus far, at least from the cover of #983. Mongul’s hand can also be seen, so it will be fun to see who else is in this two-part storyline.

Red Hood and the Outlaws #12

This series has surprised many by its quality, given how poorly received the New 52 version of the comic was. Life of Bizarro could be one of the more emotional storylines of Rebirth, as Red Hood and Artemis try to save the Superman foe. An appearance from Solomon Grundy should indicate a good fight for the Outlaws and maybe even tease a fun monster battle down the line.

Batman ‘66/Legion of Superheroes #1

After drawing all of the covers for Batman ‘66, Mike Allred finally draws a six-issue mini-series for the groovy caped crusader. With the Legion also appearing, this should be one of the more fun books from the ‘66 continuity that DC has built. Lee and Mike Allred already proved to be a good duo with the Marvel Now FF series, so it’s good seeing them collaborate on this project.

Batman: Rebirth Deluxe Edition Book One Hardcover

Collecting the first 15 issues of Tom King’s Batman run, this is a collection no fan should miss. While not as celebrated as his work in Omega Men and The Vision, King has proven to be a valuable writer for DC. Interestingly enough, the collection will include tie-in issues to the Night of the Monster Men crossover, so reading that separately from the event should be interesting.

Batgirl: Stephanie Brown Vol. 1

From Smallville writer Bryan Q. Miller, this Batgirl series was a fan favorite that ended too soon when the New 52 came along. Those that missed out can pick up this collection, which has the first 12 issues. It heavily influenced the new direction for the current Batgirl series, so this is worth looking into for fans of the Burnside era of Barbara Gordon.

Harley’s Little Black Book Hardcover

Possibly the best looking graphic novel from the DC Comics July 2017 solicitations. This collection has Harley Quinn team up with Wonder Woman, Green Lantern and much more. The art was done by some of the comic industry’s best, including Amanda Conner, Simon Bisley, Dave Johnson and Neal Adams.

Justice League: The Darkseid War Saga Omnibus Hardcover

The New 52’s last big event and one of the preludes to DC Rebirth, fans can finally get the complete Darkseid War in one beautiful omnibus. Aside from issues #40 to #50, we also get the individual specials that focused on each member of the Justice League, along with the short story from DC Convergence: Free Comic Book Day.
