Dark Souls 3 is coming out in two months, and fans couldn?t be more excited. From Software has promised that the game will be even more difficult than before while also adopting a few gimmicks from PS4-exclusive Bloodborne, which earned numerous nominations for the 2015 game of the year.
A press release from Bandai Namco has unveiled Dark Souls 3 digital pre-order bonuses. Pre-orders for the digital versions can be made on Steam, PS4 and Xbox One, so no platform will be left behind.
The PS4 and Steam pre-orders are pretty tame. Those who pre-order Dark Souls 3 on the PS4 can get the game?s soundtrack and an exclusive theme for their console. Steam players also get the soundtrack but will receive a US$4.99 discount on pre-ordering Dark Souls 3 if they have Dark Souls and Dark Souls 2.
Xbox One owners who pre-order the digital version of Dark Souls 3 will get a code for the backwards-compatible version of the first Dark Souls game. This is a great deal for those who haven?t played the first game in the series, and it is easily the most appealing of the digital pre-orders by far.
Bandai Namco has also confirmed a digital deluxe edition for all three platforms. It costs US$84.99 and will come with all of the aforementioned pre-order bonuses for each platform, plus the season pass, which grants players instant access to the DLC. The PS4 version of the Dark Souls 3 digital deluxe edition also comes with another exclusive theme for the current-gen console.
Those who prefer a physical copy of the game have a choice between the Day One edition and the Collector?s edition, though these pre-orders are only available on the PS4 and Xbox One, according to Forbes. Day One comes with a copy of the game, a soundtrack and the official Prima strategy guide, while the Collector?s Edition comes with everything in the Day One Edition, plus a statue, an art book, a collector?s box and a cloth map of the game.
Dark Souls 3 will be available in Japan on March 24 and will be released worldwide on April 12.
