Who stood out?
Racer James Hinchcliffe, along with partner Sharna Burgess, was endearing and gave his best knowing he has a smaller fanbase.
The chemistry between actress Terra Jole and Sasha Farber was evident during their number. The two were also seen playing practical jokes on each other in behind the scenes clips.
NFL star Calvin Johnson Jr. and partner Lindsay Arnold did an entertaining Urkel tribute from TV Theme Songs night.
R&B superstar Kenny ?Babyface? Edmonds performed well and showed great versatility. However, he was seemingly too critical of himself and held back a couple of times. ?
Gymnast Laurie Hernandez nailed her performance. Her pro partner Valentin Chmerkovskiy commended her not just for dancing well, but also for her positive attitude.
Former Texas Governor Rick Perry was energetic during his performance. While it was unable to gather him high scores from the judges, it was clear that him and partner Emma Slater still had a good time.
Iconic rapper Vanilla Ice stood out not just because of his dancing abilities, but also for his positive stand about just trying his best instead of focusing too much on scores.
Missteps of the night
Sexy model and entrepreneur Amber Rose got her foot caught in the curtains during her performance. While she was visibly upset, partner Maksim Chmerkovskiy assured her that she did very well.
After missing some steps during her tango, country artist Jana Kramer was visibly down. However, hosts Tom Bergeron and Erin Andrews just tried to make light of her missteps by joking about pro partner Gleb Savchenko.
The Brady Bunch star Maureen McCormick and fellow actress Marilu Henner both seemed nervous. However, it helped that their respective partners were both very encouraging.
Ex-Disney talent Jake Austin and partner Jenna Johnson?s routines stood out, but the former Wizards of Waverly Place star seemed to have personal issues.
Olympian Ryan Lochte has seemingly moved on from being stormed with protesters during the season premiere. Along with partner Cheryl Burke, the controversial swimmer delivered amid the support of other Dancing with the Stars contestants. However, they still ended up in the bottom 4 later that night.

In the end, Jake Austin and Jenna Johnson became the first couple to be eliminated this season.
