Dance Moms Season 7 could possibly be cancelled after star dancer Maddie Ziegler?s departure from the show. Now, it looks like the rest of the rising stars which include Nia Frazier Sioux and Jojo Siwa will be leaving the Abby Lee Dance Company (ALDC) as well. ?
Sioux and Siwa are getting juicier projects outside of the show, News Everyday reports, and they are already dropping hints of their departure. Siwa and her mom, Jessalyn, surprisingly did not join the team in participating at the Sheer Talent Competition in Washington, which could be a sign of her decision to leave the show. However, the 13-year-old dancer actually had a valid excuse for missing the competition as she attended another event on the same day which was the 2016 Women of Excellence Luncheon by Ladylike Foundation in Beverly Hills. Perhaps Siwa?s priorities have changed and there are far more important occasions and projects that are worth venturing into.
Sioux, on the other hand, was invited to perform at the Trip of Love at Stage 42 this July with the Dance Moms cast also performing solo during the event. Will Sioux be joining her team?s performance?
Although, if the two rising stars, Siwa and Sioux, do stay in the show which will hopefully be renewed, they will then have a bigger chance to shine as the two ALDC favorites, Ziegler and Chloe Lukasiak will no longer take the spotlight, Christian Times writes.
Maddie and her sister, Mackenzie, are now exploring bigger projects in film and Maddie has also been tapped to be a judge on So You Think You Can Dance: Next Generation.
Meanwhile, there have been rumors of Lukasiak returning to the show after she left in Season 4 as she has been teasing about a ?big project? in social media. But it turns out, this new big project is not her returning to the reality show, but a web series called, Dance Classes with Chloe, which is a web-based dance tutorial. The web show includes, tips for aspiring dancers, behind-the-scene snapshots of her life, and initially, a core workout guide.
Aside from head coach Abby Lee Miller having to face the reality of her dancers searching for greener pastures in the world of dance and film, the ALDC coach has also been caught up in a slew of legal troubles which seriously threatens the show?s survival. According to Deadline, Miller was charged with bankruptcy fraud, concealment of bankruptcy assets and false declarations of bankruptcy in which she could possibly end up spending up to five years in jail with over $5 million in fines if found guilty. Sources say that the preliminary plea deal between the U.S. Attorney?s Office and the ALDC head coach are settling toward the reality show host paying a hefty fine and probation but no jail time.
Keep an eye out for more updates on Dance Moms Season 7. Do you think there?s still hope that the show will be renewed even after the departure of some cast members and Miller?s legal troubles? Or will Season 6 be the last we?ll see of the reality dance show?
