Nineteen-year old Cyrus Villanueva was named X-Factor Australia?s winner beating out Louise Adams and duo Jess & Matt in the finale.
The teen was in tears as his name was announced and expressed his gratitude.

“I’m so blessed and honored, and I’m so humbled by this whole experience and I’ve just had such a great time. And I can’t thank everyone who’s been the littlest part of this whole journey [enough], and I’m so overwhelmed,” he said.

He inherited his love for music from his father who is a full-time musician known as Jo Vill.?In an interview with?The National, the ?X-Factor Australia? 2015 winner credited his father for nurturing his interest in music who allowed him to tag along on music gigs as a roadie before Cyrus booked his own gigs at weddings and cafes. His brother is also a musician.
