Nineteen-year old Cyrus Villanueva was named X-Factor Australia?s winner beating out Louise Adams and duo Jess & Matt in the finale.

The teen was in tears as his name was announced and expressed his gratitude.

“I’m so blessed and honored, and I’m so humbled by this whole experience and I’ve just had such a great time. And I can’t thank everyone who’s been the littlest part of this whole journey [enough], and I’m so overwhelmed,” he said.

#1: ?Cyrus is from Wollongong, New South Wales and was a uni student studying graphic design before auditioning for the reality show last summer.?A Fil- Aussie, he is born to an Australian mother and Filipino father.

#2:?The young singer grew up listening to classics and music legends like Frank Sinatra, Ray Charles, Nat King Cole and Stevie Wonder. He cites Michael Jackson as his favorite singer.

#3:?Cyrus? musical talents run in the family. He inherited his love for music from his father who is a full-time musician known as Jo Vill.?In an interview with?The National, the ?X-Factor Australia? 2015 winner credited his father for nurturing his interest in music who allowed him to tag along on music gigs as a roadie before Cyrus booked his own gigs at weddings and cafes. His brother is also a musician.
