After addressing its financial trouble last week, developer Crytek is now taking concrete steps on how to climb out of its hole.

The Germany-based firm has announced that they have sold the IP rights of their shooter game Homefront to Deep Silver Dambuster Studios. In a post on their website, Crytek said they have been in extensive discussions with Koch Media, Deep Silver?s parent company. Upon the completion of the acquisition, the Nottingham-based Homefront team will be transferring to Koch Media?s studio. This means the development of Homefront will now be continued under Deep Silver.

Koch Media is an independent producer and marketer of digital entertainment products and accessories in Europe and North America. Its main headquarters is also based in Germany.

In the statement, Crytek founder and CEO, Cevat Yerli, said: “As we look to cement Crytek’s future, this strategic deal with Koch Media would allow us to continue with our ambitious goals to become an online publisher. With Warface, Arena of Fate and HUNT, we believe we have the perfect portfolio and teams to make that happen. We would like to thank all our staff ? past and present ? in both Nottingham and Austin for their contributions to the company, and we wish all the very best to anyone who may no longer be under the Crytek banner moving forward.”

Crytek also announced that the development of its upcoming game, HUNT: Horrors of the Gilded Age, will also undergo internal restructuring. The game?s development will be transferred from Austin, U.S.A to Frankfurt. Despite the migration, Crytek?s office in Austin will still continue to function with some of its employees maintaining the CRYENGINE support team for North America. Employees not part of the support team will be invited for new positions in their HQ in Germany.

Crytek?s other studios in Budapest, Instanbul, Kiev, and Sofia will still function as usual.

Meanwhile, Koch Media also expressed their excitement of their acquisition of the Homefront IP.

?We are thrilled to see another great IP joining the Deep Silver universe,? said?Dr. Klemens Kundratitz, CEO of Koch Media Group. ?We strongly believe in the potential of Homefront: The Revolution and trust in the new team to continue the path they have been walking in the last years.?

Homefront: The Revolution is expected to be released sometime next year for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Mac, and PC.
