By on

In just a few days, Criminal Minds Season 12 is finally returning. Fans expect that there will be a major cast reshuffle. Thomas Gibson was previously ousted from the show.

The decision is actually a brave move for the long running series. Avid viewers were used to following the life of Gibson?s character for the past eleven seasons. And yet even without Gibson?s presence until the end of the season, the show must go on.

The synopsis of the premiere episode for Criminal Minds Season 12 has already been released. The said episode is titled The Crimson King. According to spoilers, the upcoming season will begin with Luke Alvez. Alves is the leader of the Fugitive Task Force of the FBI. The character is played by Adam Rodriguez.

In Criminal Minds Season 12, Alvez signs up for the Behavioral Analysis Unit or BAU. The first episode of the much awaited season will see Alvez and his team chasing one of the criminals. From here, it is safe to assume that Criminal Minds Season 12 premiere will be filled with action.

Alvez?s team has to seek a total of 13 criminals. They are all serial killers. Fans can expect that chasing these criminals will be tough work for Alvez and the rest of the boys.

Thomas Gibson Returns in Criminal Minds Season 12

Gibson related how he was kicked out of the show, an event that happened after altercation with the show’s?producer, Virgil Williams. According to News.com.au, Gibson relayed:

?We were shooting a scene late one night when I went to Virgil and told him there was a line that I thought contradicted an earlier line,? Gibson told People in an interview released Thursday. ?He said, ?Sorry, it?s necessary, and I absolutely have to have it.??

?He came into that room and started coming towards me. As he brushed past me, my foot came up and tapped him on the leg. If I hadn?t moved, he would have run into me. We had some choice words, for which I apologised the next day, and that was it. It was over. We shot the scene, I went home ? and I never got to go back.?

Despite the fact that Gibson was already ousted from the show, this does not mean that the actor will not make an appearance in Criminal Minds Season 12 anymore. Several sources claim that Gibson will appear in the first two episodes of the newest season.

It will be exciting to see how the creative team will end his role. Whatever the approach is, it is easy to tell that it is going to be a heartbreaking scene for many fans.

Gibson plays the role of BAU Head Chief Aaron Hotchner. Criminal Minds Season 12 spoilers suggest that a female character is fated to take his position. The identity of the character is expected to be revealed in the upcoming season.

Criminal Minds Season 12 is slated to air on Wednesday, Sept. 28 at 9/8c on CBS.
