Criminal Minds Season 12 Cast: Aaron Hotchner Of Thomas Gibson Replaced? Studio Eyes More Character Shakeup

By on

Thomas Gibson?s character, Aaron Hotchner, will be replaced for the upcoming season of Criminal Minds. The hit CBS drama is looking to add two new series regulars. One of the characters will replace Hotchner as the team leader while details about the other one are being kept under wraps. Hotchner being replaced is sure to happen along with more character shakeup.

The studio has not named any actor yet for the impending new additions. It looks like the producers are still currently in search for the perfect actor to take the place of Hotchner. And it looks like Gibson?s character is not the only one to be replaced as Criminal Minds is currently in a state of transition following the departure of another original cast member, Shemar Moore, who left the series last spring.

Other changes in Criminal Minds Season 12 cast include Aisha Tyler being promoted as a series regular. She plays the role of Dr. Tara Lewis. Paget Brewster will also be returning as Prentiss. Viewers will also get the chance to welcome Adam Rodriguez in his full time arrival to play Alvez.

As for Gibson?s ouster, creative details of how his character leaves the series could be known in the upcoming season. CBS assured that it will surely be addressed in the show and will be announced at a later date.

Gibson was let go from the series in July after he allegedly kicked a producer. He has been part of the hit series for 12 good years and admits that he has put his heart and soul into the series.

Several avid viewers worry about how the original characters, particularly Hotchner, will be replaced for the forthcoming season. Hotchner is a strong, main character from the cast of 11 strong seasons. Removing and replacing him could be a make-or-break for Criminal Minds Season 12.

Criminal Minds Season 12 is scheduled to air on Wednesday, September 28, 2016.
