Criminal Minds rumors state that Shemar Moore was actually axed from the show because of co-star Thomas Gibson. Moore, 46, recently took to Instagram to address the issue in which he appears to be referring to the recent firing of former co-star Gibson, 54, from the series.
Moore and Gibson last worked together in Season 11 with the former exiting the series earlier this year and the latter getting initially suspended and then officially let go on Friday. The reason for Gibson?s exit is yet to be announced, while the creative details on his departure will be announced at a later date, PEOPLE reports.
Meanwhile, Moore posted a video on Instagram which has since been deleted. He said in the video: ?Lot of birdies chirping out there. The gossip is real. I hear it. I see it.? ?
He went on while facing the camera, ?I?m sure a lot of you do too, so I?ll just say this: I believe in karma. Good things happen to good people, honest people, hardworking people, humble people. People who believe in basic goodness, people who believe in themselves, people who believe in others? Good things will happen to you. It?s not always easy, but you’ve got to grind it and you’ve got to believe in you.?
The 46-year-old actor concluded his statement with, ?Treat people how you expect them to treat you. Celebrate yourself, celebrate your blessings ? as you should. But just know that you?re not better than anybody ? we all have our own gifts, so unwrap them bad boys and show them off, but then appreciate other people?s gifts.?
Although it?s not certain what Moore was talking about, fans were quick to speculate that he was in fact referring to Gibson, 54, getting fired from the series due to an alleged physical altercation on set. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Gibson reportedly kicked writer-producer Virgil Williams in the shins over two weeks ago while they were arguing on set. The argument was said to be about creative details on an episode being directed by Williams which escalated to a physical fight.
Following the reported incident, ABC Studios and CBS Television released a statement to PEOPLE announcing Gibson?s dismissal from the series.
After his dismissal, Gibson released a statement to the publication. ?I love Criminal Minds and have put my heart and soul into it for the last 12 years,? he said. ?I had hoped to see it through to the end, but that won?t be possible now. I would just like to say thank you to the writers, producers, actors, our amazing crew, and most importantly, the best fans that a show could ever hope to have.?
As to Moore?s controversial post, rumors say that Gibson might be the reason for his departure earlier this year. But the reason he stated was that he wanted to grow more as an actor and there were no internal conflicts that emerged. But him posting a video following Gibson?s exit could lead one to speculate that the 54-year-old actor could have been one of the reasons why he decided to leave the show after being a part of it since the beginning.
Criminal Minds Season 12 premieres Sept. 28 on CBS.
