Crazy Ex-Girlfriend proved to be one of the wonderfully weird new shows that emerged in 2015. Part comedy, part romance and part musical, the show is coming back with Season 2 to explore more of what happens to Rebecca Bunch?s blossoming love life.
Season 1 left off with Rebecca (Rachel Bloom) finally snagging the man of her dreams, Josh Chan (Vincent Rodriguez III). Moving to West Covina from her high profile lawyer job in New York, she finally admits to Josh that she moved back to the small town because of him. Question is, will Josh tolerate the weight of her confession?
Meanwhile, Season 2 will bring Pitch Perfect star Brittany Snow to the show. She will be playing Anna, a beauty mogul who stirs up Rebecca?s life in the small Californian town. Also, Jane the Virgin?s Yael Groblas (that?s Petra and Anezka) will appear as Trina, a businesswoman who hires Rebecca.
Josh possibly not the endgame
Speaking with E! News, Bloom teases that Josh Chan may or may not be Rebecca?s endgame in Season 2. ?In some ways, the season is everything we?ve wanted to do with the show because now Rebecca is more open about why she?s in West Covina and what she wants out of life,? Bloom shares. After Rebecca confessed her feelings for Josh, it looks like she will be bolder and may find happiness without Josh in it.
Does the casting of Michael Foster have anything to do with this? Foster, who has previously appeared in Chasing Life, Greek, Halt & Catch Fire, and Once Upon A Time, will be joining regular cast members Bloom, Rodriguez, Santino Fontana, and Donna Lynne Champlin in the show?s Season 2. He will be playing Nathaniel, a lawyer from a prominent family who?s from San Gabriel Valley. When he collides with Rebecca and the people in her life, he will affect everyone?s future.
Crazy Ex-Girlfriend Season 2 premieres on October 21 on The CW.
