Crash Bandicoot Remaster

Sony gave plenty of 90s kids a pleasant surprise when the company announced that they would be releasing a Crash Bandicoot remaster collection, thanks to a deal with Activision during E3. While Naughty Dog developed the first three games, the license for the character has since gone to the Skylanders and Call of Duty publisher.

Videogamer has confirmed that Vicarious Visions, the developer of Skylanders, will be developing the remastered collection of the classic PlayStation franchise. Since the games came out on the original PlayStation, it will be interesting to see how the game looks when it comes out on the PS4 sometime in 2017.

Fans may have thought that Sony would be the ones working on the Crash Bandicoot remaster, especially since the character was a major mascot for the original PlayStation. However, ever since Activision bought the rights to the series, Crash Bandicoot has become a multi-platform game, appearing on the Xbox and various Nintendo handhelds.

Still, getting these three Naughty Dog games in one PS4 collection should make fans very happy. All three games ? Crash Bandicoot, Crash Bandicoot 2: Cortex Strikes Back and Crash Bandicoot: Warped ? are considered to be excellent platformers, and it will be interesting to see how all three games hold up compared to the likes of Ratchet and Clank.

Push Square stated that we might see a demo of the collection during the PlayStation Experience event. If this ends up being true, it will be interesting to see how the game looks and plays, since very few games have been ported from the first PlayStation to the PS4.

While fans won?t be able to play the remastered collection till next year, fans will be able to use Crash Bandicoot in Skylanders: Imaginators. This is the first time Crash will be making an appearance in the series and also the first time he will be in a game with former rival Spyro the Dragon. The trailer shows that Crash will have his signature moves from the older games, including his tornado spin and his jumping bodyslam.

The Crash Bandicoot remaster collection is expected to come to the PS4 in 2017.
