Back at E3 2016, gamers worldwide were more than happy to welcome the return of our beloved Crash Bandicoot in a remastered bundle of the series’ first three games. As we’re drawing closer to the release of the Crash Bandicoot N Sane Trilogy release date, more details have begun to surface about the game. Rumor has it that players on other platforms can join in on the fun one year after the PS4 version releases.

It has been rumored long before that the Crash Bandicoot N Sane Trilogy will be an exclusive title for the PlayStation 4. A leaked image from the All Games Delta Twitter account reveals that the trilogy is going to be a PlayStation 4 exclusive, but only for a year. The leak comes from a Best Buy listing in Canada and there’s a chance that it could be a legitimate image.

Earlier this April, Sony sent out a letter that the trilogy was going to be a PlayStation 4 exclusive, WCCFTECH reports. With the new leak however, it looks like everyone will get their hands on the game a year after its release. Whether the game will be launched on the Nintendo Switch is unknown for now but it feels fitting as there have been a few Crash Bandicoot games on Nintendo’s previous consoles already.

Back in the days, the first Crash Bandicoot games were exclusives for the PlayStation but that was only when Naughty Dog was still at the helm of the games’ development. In 2001, Crash Bandicoot was made playable on the Xbox and GameCube with the release of Crash Bandicoot Wrath of Cortex. Since then, Crash Bandicoot has been able to come across several platforms.

Crash Bandicoot N Sane Trilogy going across several platforms is very good news also as the first three games in the acclaimed franchise were exclusive for the PlayStation. Now that the remasters are reaching a few platforms, everyone will have the chance to take a look at the humble beginnings of Crash Bandicoot.

The Crash Bandicoot N Sane Trilogy launches on June 30. The collection will have remastered versions of the first three games in the series; Crash Bandicoot, Crash Bandicoot: Cortex Strikes Back and Crash Bandicoot: Warped. We’ve yet to know exactly when the game will reach other platforms but it could go beyond June 30, 2018.
