Crackdown 3 is one of the heavy hitters gamers are excited to see at Microsoft?s E3 2016 press conference. At last year?s Gamescom, the company showed off the impressive scale of the game?s cloud-powered destructible environments.
Crackdown 3 Beta Teased, Expect More at E3
Crackdown is listed as a ?2016? release by Microsoft, so here?s hoping that a concrete date is announced tomorrow. We do know that a beta for the game is on the way soon. Over the weekend, some die-hard Xbox fans stumbled upon a Crackdown teaser site with a cryptic message and several dates of interest.
The message seems to be a confirmation notice for a beta-signup, as it instructs players to ?keep an eye on your inbox.? The message also says that signing up immediately earns $2/$10 toward your ?agency pension?, which could be some form of in-game currency or just some simple lore-building.
The listed dates mention new ?missions? being rolled out on each Friday of June and the first of July, which indicates that the beta may be released in phases every weekend. It?s also possible that the dates are just placeholders, so we?ll keep you posted.
Like the previous games in the series, Crackdown 3 puts you in the role of a super powered agent bent on stopping crime. The official synopsis reads:
?Stop crime as a super-powered Agent of justice in Crackdown 3’s hyper-powered sandbox of mayhem and destruction. Explore the heights of a futuristic city, race through the streets in a transforming vehicle, and use your powerful abilities to stop a ruthless criminal empire. Developed by original creator Dave Jones, Crackdown 3 delivers cooperative mayhem and an all-new multiplayer mode where destruction is your ultimate weapon powered by Microsoft Cloud.?
Crackdown 3 will also have multiplayer. However, due to bandwidth constraints, the cloud-powered destructible environments will not be present. For more E3 news, keep it right here on the BitBag.
