Everyone is going nuts over President Donald Trump’s recent tweet. The POTUS appeared poised to write another Twitter rant about the media early Wednesday but it came to a quick end with a word that has everyone browsing the dictionary.

“Despite the constant negative press covfefe,” the president wrote at 12:06 a.m.

Surely, it must have been a typographical mistake that Trump would soon delete. But a few minutes later, he didn’t. A few more passed and the tweet was still there. Social media has eventually picked up the posting, bringing everyone in Twittersphere together as they figure out what the word meant.

But what is covfefe? Coffee? Conference?  Coveted? Coverage? Even the dictionary itself threw its hands in the air and gave up defining it.

But plenty of theories did abound overnight in an attempt to explain what the term could really mean. Take a look at some of the funniest ones below.

Fear, shame, and disbelief

A secret code

More than 125,000 users retweeted the cryptic posting. But a few hours after “covfefe” consumed the internet, Trump finally deleted it. He attempted to wave it off with a follow-up that simply read, “Who can figure out the true meaning of ‘covfefe’ ??? Enjoy!”

A day later, the true meaning of the word is still unknown. Our guess, though, is that Trump must have attempted to write “coverage” when something happened. Maybe the National Security Council had an urgent meeting or his phone exploded mid-tweet or something.

When asked about the “covfefe” White House Press Secretary told reporters during an off-camera press gaggle Wednesday: “The president and a small group of people know exactly what he meant.” Others reporters, according to Los Angeles Times, simultaneously asked further questions about the response which Spicer did not entertain.

Any thoughts? What is covfefe? And how do you pronounce it? Sound off in the comments section below!
