Crysis, Gear of War, Assassins Creed, and Fallout III just to name a few pc titles that require a boat load of CPU and GPU processing power. If you have ever experienced sluggish game play, slow keyboard and/or mouse responsiveness then believe it or not, it could very well be that your computers power supply is lacking the wattage to supply the graphics and computing wattage needed to run at peak performance. Personally for my RIG builds, I don’t like to start putting together a new computer with out first knowing what type of power supply I’m going to be putting into the tower.
You must always keep in mind that when you power up your PC it’s not just powering the system up like a gaming console which have a fully integrated system but your actually pulling power for all of the attached devices, like your USB webcam, USB external drives, mouse/keyboard and of course the GPU (graphics processing unit) and CPU (computing processing unit) but your also powering the many fans and internal sensors embedded on the motherboard. I can go on and even add hidden power suckers like the RAM and Network Lan and Wifi card(s).
Corsair has just the power supply that will offer you all the power you’ll ever need even for those running an SLI graphics set up with internal water cooling systems. The TX950w power supply has a whole lot of technical specifications that, when I first read up on it, shocked me.
Things are going to get a bit technical so if your not into PC gaming at all or if you’ve never built a gaming computer you before you might not understand the significance of this post. For those of us (me included) we will agree that this is one amazing power supply from a Gaming RIGs point of view.
This baby looks great on any setup with it’s mean flat black finish, massive fan for heat dissipation and gold 950w logo..POWER….! hahahahahaha…! Give it to me…! Oh, sorry I lost it there for a minute, I just get all geeky when I talk about PC Hardware. I’m glad this is not a GPU impression. So, back to the TX950w and it’s internal specs.
The TX950W is built using industrial-grade components to ensure clean and stable voltages, and has been qualified to operate at 100% load at an ambient temperature of 50°C for unmatched reliability. The Corsair TX950W boasts a dedicated +12V rail capable of delivering 78A (936W), which equates to 98.5% of the PSU’s total power output. This makes it ideal for extreme, multi-GPU gaming systems using the latest multi-core CPUs, such as Intel® Core™ i5 and Core™ i7-series, all of which require high amounts of stable power at 12V.
The TX950Whas been thoroughly tested for compatibility with NVIDIASLI and ATI Crossfire from what the presser explains, you will have more than enough power for what ever your dream RIG will need to power it’s internal components. I’ve rambled on enough about the important part that your computers power supply plays in the overall performance of your system. For you technical types read the detailed press release from Corsair. Until next time, peace out.
