Are you a big Civilization fan like I am? Or are you a history geek who wants to dig more about ancient wonders and famous leaders? If you are, then you might want to check out the newest release of the epic series, Civilization Revolution 2.

Sid Meier?s Civilization Revolution 2 is the sequel to Civilization Revolution. Like its predecessor, which was released in 2008, the new installment of the Civilization franchise tasks players to lead a country and deal with other civilizations. The turn-based game starts from the ancient era where you start with spears and bows, and gradually progress to a more civilized nation with jet planes, carriers, and nukes. Throughout the game, players race to build different World Wonders ? such as the Statue of Liberty, Machu Picchu, and the Ancient Pyramids. Players can choose to win the game through several possible victory scenarios such as science, cultural, diplomatic, or domination.

Of course, the game wouldn?t be the same without the classic historical figures and monuments from the original game. In addition to that, Civilization Revolution 2?also features new personalities like JFK and Winston Churchill.

According to Polygon, Firaxis Games, the original developer of the game, has been providing ?constant support and input? to the mobile version?s developer 2K China. They also promised to release additional map sections and civilization leaders through the App Store, where users may opt to purchase these characters and areas and include them in their game.

The game is made specifically for iOS, and is intended as a quick and portable way to enjoy the game for both experienced and new users. Revolution 2 has a simplified user interface, which allows new users to easily navigate and get a ?feel? of the game.

Civilization Revolution 2 will be available on July 2 for $14.99 at the App Store and can be played with the iPad, iPhone, or iPod Touch. Sources say the game will later be released for Android devices.

Meanwhile, Firaxis Games has also been working on another installment, Civilization: Beyond Earth. The game is due to be released later this year for the PC.
