Huawei Mate 9 US Launch

Chinese smartphone maker, Huawei officially announced that its latest flagship, the Huawei Mate 9 will arrive in the US starting Friday. At CES 2017, the company announced the Mate 9 phablet will be the first smartphone in the world with Amazon’s Alexa voice service preinstalled. The app will offer customers a “natural, convenient user interface” for talking to the digital assistant.

Huawei revealed Amazon Alexa will be updated sometime in “early 2017.” Those who already own the Mate 9 will get the feature through an OTA update. Users will be able to ask Alexa to set alarms, build to-do lists, and get the weather-traffic reports.

It is quite a achievement for Amazon as Alexa is set to compete with the likes of Apple’s Siri and Google Assistant. Alexa is already becoming the default voice interface for controlling smart connected homes. Several third party hardware and appliance manufacturers have teamed with Amazon to release truly awesome devices with Alexa compatibility.
