Fans of the popular 90s anime Cardcaptor Sakura are probably jumping for joy as the first two chapters of the new Cardcaptor Sakura Sequel have already been released.
The series was written and illustrated by an all-female mangaka group called CLAMP and was first serialized in 1996. The announcement of the sequel was a part of its 20th anniversary celebration.
Here?s a review for Cardcaptor Sakura Sequel Clear Card Arc Chapter 1 and 2.
Chapter 1 starts off with Sakura preparing for her first day as a first year student of Tomoeda Middle School. Fans are feeling the nostalgia seeing Kero-chan and Sakura in the first few pages and then fangirling as soon as Toya appears. On the way to school, Sakura is pictured underneath a row of beautiful cherry blossom trees and is suddenly reminded of Syaoran. Almost feeling depressed for missing him, Syaoran appears suddenly and tells Sakura that he?s back for good. The joyous reunion is interrupted by Tomoyo lurking behind them with her video camera. This chapter more or less re-introduces its main characters and showing how they are doing at the moment.
Later in the chapter, Sakura dreams of being surrounded by clear cards and being watched by an obscure creature/person. The mysterious person shatters all the cards and Sakura wakes and runs to check her Clow Book.
In Chapter 2, Sakura talks to Yue and shows him that all the cards have become transparent. Both are puzzled because they are unable to sense magic in the cards. Yue asks more about her dream and Sakura tells him that there is someone standing there, but she could not make out a face. Sakura also tells her friends, including Syaoran, about the cards and her dream. Later that night, she dreams about the cards and the mysterious person once more and this time she gets a new key. Sakura wakes up and sees that the key is in her hand. A beam of light enters her room and she sees a nightmare has come to life. Looks like Sakura faces a new card adventure once again.
Fans can?t help but notice that Syaoran seems to know something but is keeping to himself. Could this be a test for Sakura? Or has the Syaoran we know changed and he means trouble? Let us know what you think on the comment section below.
