Cardcaptor Sakura is making a grand comeback. The fan favorite protagonist from Clamp?s 1998 magical girl anime series is all set to return along with Kero and friends. Sakura and friends are returning with a brand new anime titled Cardcaptor Sakura: Clear Card Arc.
CLAMP took to the January issue of Kodansha?s Nakayoshi magazine to confirm that Sakura?s return is happening in 2018. The upcoming sequel is reportedly based on the manga as well.
Fans will be delighted to know that director Moria Asaka will also be back to work on the project. He is the same director who took care of the 1998 anime series. Even Sakura Tange will be back to reprise her role.
Cardcaptor Sakura Clear Card Arc Cast
Tange lends her voice to the titular hero, Sakura Kinomoto. Aya Hisakawa returns as Keroberos. Keroberos is Sakura?s flying magical companion.
Aside from Tange and Hisakawa, other original Cardcaptor Sakura cast members are returning. These include the actors behind supporting characters like Tomoyo, Li Syaoran and Yukito. It is definitely a magical reunion that fans will be looking forward to. The following are other cast members to return with their respective roles.

The current years mark the 20th anniversary of the original manga. The original Cardcaptor Sakura magical girl manga series ran from May 1996 to June 2000. The said manga series has reportedly sold more than 12 million copies.
Fans in the United States and other parts of the world have also fallen in love with Sakura since the beginning thanks to Tokyopop. The company was responsible for releasing the series in English in two editions. Dark Horse Comics later released the series in omnibus format.
