?Captain America: Civil War?, the much-awaited Marvel movie?s first trailer was released worldwide on YouTube Wednesday afternoon, and it was epic!

The film sees Captain America and Iron Man on opposite sides of the law when world governments try to regulate the superheroes. It is based on the Marvel Comics crossover event from 2006 and 2007. Captain rebels against the measures, whereas Iron Man becomes their champion. This causes fracturing of Marvel universe?as other superheroes pick sides. It thus means packing in?nearly the entire lineup of heroes from?previous Marvel films (minus Chris Hemsworth?s Thor and Mark Ruffalo?s Hulk).

Chadwick Boseman is introduced as Black Panther and Tom Holland as Spider-Man, before either gets their own movies according to deadline.com

The sight of Chadwick Boseman as Black Panther was extremely?cool. The costumes look exceptionally good, quite alike as they appear in the comics.

Captain America: Civil War is directed by Anthony Russo and Joe Russo (Marvel’s Captain America: The Winter Soldier) from a screenplay by Christopher Markus & Stephen McFeely (Captain America: The Winter Soldier). Chris Evans makes a comeback as the iconic Super Hero character Steve Rogers/Captain America with Robert Downey Jr. as Tony Stark/Iron Man, Don Cheadle as Jim Rhodes/War Machine, Scarlett Johansson as Natasha Romanoff/Black Widow, Sebastian Stan as Bucky Barnes/Winter Soldier, Anthony Mackie as Sam Wilson/Falcon, Paul Bettany as The Vision, Jeremy Renner as Clint Barton/Hawkeye and Elizabeth Olsen as Wanda Maximoff/Scarlet Witch. These heroes will be joined by a number of new characters and returning supporting characters as well according to movieweb.com

As Steve Rogers guides the new team of Avengers in their consistent efforts to protect humanity, Captain America: Civil War picks up where Avengers: Age of Ultron left off. Political pressure moves up to install a system of accountability and a governing body to determine when to enlist the services of the team. This occurs after another international incident involving the Avengers that result in collateral damage. The new state of affairs breaks the Avengers while they try to safeguard the world from a new and nefarious villain according to movieweb.com

A few points we saw from the trailer:

  • The Avengers are now considered vigilantes, further complicating their role in society
  • Black Panther?s appearance seem to show that he is choosing to be in Captain America?s side
  • Is War Machine going to die? Not sure, but the clip does show a devastated Iron Man cradling his bestfriend, seemingly lifeless and feeling betrayed by the cap.

The trailer was first shown on ?Jimmy Kimmel Live? on Tuesday where Evans and Downey were the show?s guests.

The movie will be shown in theaters on May 6, 2016.
