Captain America Civil War Cast: Black Panther Role Gets Spotlight, Role Bigger Than We Think

By on

The fact that there?s an upcoming movie of a raging battle between Captain America and Iron Man just makes you excited and jittery all over, and if you add another fact that the Black Panther will be making an appearance in the movie and will finally be introduced to the Marvel Cinematic Universe, then you just don?t know what to feel anymore.

?Captain America: Civil War? will be debuting the historic first black comic book superhero, the Black Panther. The black cat will also have his own stand alone movie in February 2018 and the character will be portrayed by actor Chadwick Boseman.

In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Boseman shared his experience on filming the much-anticipated Marvel movie and the role as the one and only Black Panther. ?He?s definitely not the life of the part this instance,? he said, implying how Black Panther isn?t that keen on making jokes. ?I think this is something true of the comic book character and the movie. You never quite know where he stands. There?s always a bit of concealing and mystery. So I think mysterious is more his boat,? Boseman added. ?Not to say there?s not charm and he can?t be a ladies? man and all that. It?s more like if there is humor, it?s more like James Bond.?

Boseman, who won the role of Black Panther last October, has since been grateful for the chance to become a part of the MCU. ?There definitely is a sort of tradition that he?s torn between, in terms of how things were done in the past and how things need to happen now in this new world,? he said, describing the history and purpose of Black Panther in the movie. ?I think there?s perhaps a bit of a maverick there, and then there?s also a need to live up to traditions and his father?s legacy. And not even his father?s legacy, but the entire nation of Wakanda. I think those are the things you will see.?
