Canon has introduced a new camera in EOS 5D series. Although the company has retained the identical design Canon EOS 5D Mark IV has received lots of improvements than its predecessor. The new camera includes an improved sensor with Dual Pixel autofocus, 4K video capturing, a better AF system, improved weather sealing built-in Wi-Fi/NFC and GPS.


Canon EOS 5D Mark IV uses 30.4-megapixel Dual Pixel CMOS Sensor with 61 AF points. Sensor provides 24% more vertical coverage than its predecessor. Sensor is backed up by Digic 6+ Processor.

It is fitted with 3.2-inch 1.62 million full time touchscreen. In addition the EOS 5D Mark IV includes Wi-Fi with NFC. Users will be able to easily share captured images and videos with using FTP for file transfer via the Wi-Fi connection. Wi-Fi sharing is available to compatible smart devices, selected social media sites and the Canon Connect Station CS100 device.GPS is there for geo-tagging.

Canon EOS 5D Mark IV is fitted with 1,865 mAh battery that can click 900 (VF) and 300 (LV). It measures 5.9 x 4.6 x 3.0 inches and weighs 890 grams with additional kit. A compact flash and SD slots are there. A headphone socket for mono audio mic and headphones.


Canon EOS 5D Mark IV captures 4K videos at up to 30 fps albeit with a 1.64x crop. The 5D ?Mark IV shoots 1080/60p videos at two exposures and then combine them to form a single 1080/30p frame. All videos are captured as Motion JPEG. Canon has slightly improved the burst-shooting as well, it captures images at 7fps.

It is well-suited for low-light photography features with an ISO range of 100?32000 (expandable to 50?102400). Its improved S/N and noise-processing algorithm will deliver high-level light sensitivity along with its high resolution.

Price and Release date

The 5D Mark IV will be in the beginning of September and will cost $3,499. Canon will offer two additional kits with 5D Mark IV. With ?the 24-70mm f4L lens it will cost $4,400 and the new 24-105mm f4L II lens for $4,600. Pre-orders are available on Canon?s official site.
