You may have heard about the Call of Duty games running on an old engine called Quake 3 Arena id Tech 3. The game developers have made several improvements and upgrades for almost every game released under the franchise, and now it seems that Infinity Ward may introduce a new game engine for the Call of Duty 2016 game. In our previous report, we said that the studio is aiming to build a new game engine for Call of Duty: Bloodlines (the title of the new Call of Duty game, as reported by media sources), and now it seems that Activision has confirmed such information.

Recently, a new job listing appeared on the official website of Activision. According to it, Infinity Ward is in need of an Engine Software Engineer who will work on core systems and pipelines in the company?s proprietary engine. Infinity Ward wants someone who will be able to work on both low and mid-level code. This is probably because Call of Duty 2016 will likely be released for Nintendo NX, according to various reports.

The listing also suggests that Infinity Ward needs performance and memory optimizations in their engine subsystems. The new team member will be will be required to contribute his/her ideas for improvements and new features for the engine.

In the previous games in the franchise, the old engine has been revised and improved for almost every installment, but with the next Call Of Duty game, the developer wants to deliver a gaming experience like no other. Fans are expecting new features and improved graphics in the Call of Duty 2016 game, and if Infinity Ward does introduce a brand new game engine, it would surely be a great treat for franchise fans.
