Fans already know that they can look forward to a Call of Duty 2016 game. We know that Activision will release the game anytime soon, just like Battlefield 5. However, the question is, will Infinity Ward make a sequel to 2013?s Ghosts or are they cooking a new title?
Recently, we have seen lots of rumors about the next Call of Duty game. An image from a magazine has appeared online and it sparked discussions about the upcoming game. Along with these Call of Duty rumors, a listing appeared on an online retail website, and people have taken it as a confirmation of the new Call of Duty game.
Instant Gaming reveals that according to the leak, the Call of Duty 2016 game will be titled Ghosts 2. The game presumably will follow the story of Call of Duty: Ghosts.
However, the details on the listing are yet to be confirmed. The website has not shared any screenshot or cover image of the game. Another interesting thing about the listing is that it talks about the PC version of the game and Steam keys, but no other retailer has listed the game till now. It is possible that the listing is just a placeholder as everybody knows that the next Call of Duty game is surely coming this year.
Activision announced last month that Infinity Ward will release their Call of Duty game sometime in the 2016 holidays. If the Call of Duty 2016 game will indeed be Call of Duty: Ghosts 2, then it would be easier for the team to develop the story since they were the ones who developed the original title with the help of Sledgehammer Games. Ultimately though, fans will have to wait until an official announcement about the new entry in the franchise comes out. Fans can expect to see a gameplay reveal this E3 2016 as promised by Activision.
