After Infinite Warfare divided audiences, Activision has gone back to its roots for Call of Duty WW2 in both the single-player campaign and zombie mode. Dubbed as “Army of the Dead,” this mode will continue the tradition of previous Call of Duty games by adding celebrity voices that fans might enjoy. This time, we’re getting two Marvel Netflix actors: David Tennant aka Killgrave from Jessica Jones and Elodie Yung aka Elektra from Daredevil.
Tennant’s performance as the creepy Killgrave got plenty of critical praise, though most fans know him as the 10th Doctor from Doctor Who. He will soon be Scrooge McDuck in the new DuckTales animated series that will be coming to Disney XD later this year, so he is a very busy actor. The official Call of Duty Twitter confirmed Tennant as Drostan Hynd for the upcoming Army of the Dead zombie mode, which should be good fun for those not into the WW2 setting.
Elodie Yung was also confirmed via the official Call of Duty Twitter, showing that Activision want fans hyped for their upcoming appearance in San Diego Comic-Con. Yung was in GI Joe Retaliation, but received more attention when she appeared as Elektra during Daredevil season 2 on Netflix. While her character was killed off, she has been confirmed for the upcoming Defenders Netflix show, so she will likely be revived somehow.
Fans were already excited for Call of Duty WW2, but this could get them even more pumped up, since these two are great actors with rising fanbases. The Army of the Dead gameplay will also be screened during San Diego Comic-Con, so Call of Duty fans have plenty of reasons to attend this year’s event. Gamers will be able to get the first-person shooter later this year on November 3 on PS4, Xbox One and Windows PC.
